Marabou stork Masai Mara
The marabou stork, a large scavenger bird inhabiting Africa, is easily identified by its distinctive bald head and featherless neck. Renowned for its efficiency in scavenging, it consumes a wide variety of food sources, ranging from animal carcasses to discarded refuse. Notably, the marabou stork is among the heaviest flying birds in the world. Often found near human settlements, these storks frequent rubbish dumps and garbage sites, even establishing nests in trees within bustling cities like Nairobi, as long as a reliable food source is available.
