The Lake Magadi inlet
Kenya is a land of dramatic landscapes, carved by massive geological forces. Among its most famous features are the Great Rift Valley and the Yatta Plateau, but countless smaller scars also mark the land.
Here, a Maasai guide who led me on a day trip stands on a rock in the middle of the inlet leading to Lake Magadi. The sheer size and expanse of the inlet are breathtaking. This inlet was formed over millennia by water flowing down to the lake.
