Quiet afternoon in the Masai Mara looking towards the Mara river in a undulating landscape with a single acacia tree standing on the savanna.

A small group of zebras have descended down the steep river bank and are now standing in the water probably afraid to take the full step of crossing the deep middle of the river. 

Wildebeest carcass where pretty much only the skeleton and the hide is left. In a weeks time the ants will clean everything except the bones. 

Wildebeests are covering the hills before the Mara river. Small groups of wildebeests are slowly building up to eventually cross the river.

A wet and miserable Secretary bird after a night with hail, thunder and extremely heavy rain. At times the weather pattern can be quite unpredictable in the Mara triangle. 

A herd of zebras are blending into the tall grass this early morning just before the sun rising. The air is completely still and it is very quiet apart from a little noise from the zebras and some distant birds. 

The hippo largely grazes at night, during the day it normally rest in the water although here a large group of well fed hippos are sleeping on the river bank of the Mara river. Looking quite relaxed and comfortable.

Bathed in the warm glow of a sun-kissed morning, a magnificent Serval cat sits regally in the tall grass of the savanna.
