Elephant standing in the Musiara Swamp in Masai Mara. The swamp is known as a hotspot for wildlife in the park with a great number of birds and mammals using the area as their feeding ground.

Fire on the grass lands happens frequently and it gives way for fresh sprouts of green grass to gives new life to the savanna. The animals love this feast of fresh new grass that is much easier to digest. Many times the fires start by self combustion, it is the circle of life that feeds the many animals living on the savanna.

Vulture in flight on a pristine morning near the Mara river. After a heavy rainfall the river swells and it gets much more difficult for Wildebeest and Zebra to cross, this in terms result in many animals drowning and flowing down stream until the corpuses pile up where the river bends. This is where you will find hundreds of Vultures and Marabu storks.

View over the grass plains with a couple of giraffes looking for fresh sprouts on the acacia trees. Early morning and the sun is slowly warming the savanna with much needed warmth after a cold night.

Hyena covered in fresh blood trotting home. On this very early morning we met a hyena family coming home after they had been out the whole night. One after one they passed our car covered in blod on their necks and heads. They must have brought down a big animal as all of them had blod stains all over their bodies.

Looks like this lion had a hard night out on the savanna. He look a bit tired and yawns a few times before falling into a slumber.

Small group of young zebras in flat-out gallop trough the water. Have just crossed the river and the adrenaline is probably making the zebras more nervous and they start galloping along the waterline.

There is nothing like the smile of a lazy crocodile basking in the sun on a convenient outcrop in the river. These massive crocodiles spend most of the time half asleep but don’t be fooled the moment they see a zebra in the river they will spring into action faster than a rattlesnake.

Large herd of Wildebeests looking quite nervous, slightly running and moving all the time. They might have encountered a some lions earlier or another danger that have made them fearful.

Elephant walking next to the rear window of the car. Sometimes when waiting it happens that animals just passes your vehicle from unexpected places. Here the elephant came walking from behind while the car was parked.

A Crocodile jumps into the water from the mud banks of the Mara river. I am standing around 5 meters up on a elevated part of river bank, and did initially not notice the crocodile.

Late afternoon on the grass plains and a Wildebeest passes just in front of the car.

Was driving down the road on this blissful afternoon and an elephant was just standing with this beautiful backdrop of soft clouds.

Just after a bush fire on the savanna. The tall dry grass often catch fire and burn spontaneously, this in turn makes way for fresh green sprouts that the gazelles loves to graze on.
