The beautiful Chyulu Hills mountain range, adjacent to the Tsavo West Park
Chyulu Hills is a mountain range in Makueni County, southeastern Kenya, adjacent to Tsavo West Park. The hills/moutains are made up of several hundred small volcanic lava flows and cones that formed 1.4 million years ago. These volcanoes are still considered active, with the last two eruptions (Shaitani and Chainu) occurring in 1856. The rainfall in the Chyulu Hills feeds the Tsavo and Galana rivers, as well as the Mzima Springs. This image depicts the mountain rage on a clear and sunny afternoon.
