Fish eagle Lake Naivasha
The fish eagle is a large raptor found near water bodies in Africa. The species is easily identified by its white head and tail, and dark brown body. Fish eagles are opportunistic predators, feeding on a variety of prey including fish, amphibians, reptiles, small mammals and birds. They often perch prominently near the water’s edge, waiting for their next meal to come along.
Lake Naivasha is a beautiful lake located in the rift valley of Kenya. The lake is well-known for its hippos and diverse bird life. Visitors can often see fish eagles perched prominently along the shoreline, waiting for their next meal to come along. The lake is also home to several other raptor species, including black kites, martial eagles and Verreaux’s eagles.
